Introduction to Cyndressa
Cyndressa is a mysterious and isolated country home to a race of humans known as the Cyndrella. These humans are known for their striking appearance, with heights reaching up to 9 Foot and large, formidable wings. The Cyndrella worship the fire drake Destra and engage in essence binding with fire. At the age of 21, every Cyndrellan must undergo a ritual called the Pheonix Heart in which they must stand on a pyre and become consumed by the fire essence.
This ritual has a high risk of death, as some individuals do not ascend and instead burn to death. One notable example is Valyndra, who failed in her ascension and died as a result.

The Pheonix Heart is considered the heart of the country, both figuratively and literally. It is believed that Destra blessed the humans who worship her by granting them the gift of flight. Becoming a priestess is one of the highest honors that a Cyndrellan can attain. There are also rumored to be a group of humans in the country who have been granted the ability to transform into creatures of myth.
Cyndressa is a closed off country and strictly forbids outside visitors from entering, often resulting in their demise. The country is covered in fields of red grass and interconnected monolithic trees.
